Description:
Graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with a major in chemical engineering (in-major GPA: 3.94) and a minor in chemistry. Completed doctoral qualifiers in chemical engineering at MIT, but have not finished doctoral dissertation.

Perfect 800 on math GRE. Perfect 5 in AP Calculus BC as junior in high school. Extensive tutoring experience, particularly in math (with a specialty in calculus), chemistry, statistics, physics, academic and research writing, and test preparation. Resume available on request.

The real beauty of teaching comes from the realization that each student is a keyhole, and the best tutors are the ones who can shape their teaching keys to fit the student. This is a lifelong learning process for tutors, so dedication to teaching and a love of learning are essential qualities. There is no better joy than seeing when the key fits and the light goes on in the student's head, and you realize that they now understand a concept that was previously difficult for them to grasp. I would say that I would differ from most other tutors because I would spend more time and effort preparing for the tutoring/teaching session, I would be more professional, and I am very patient and understanding with students.
